Humped Zebra Crossing

By BethQ. Posted in Rambling | 1 Comment »

KV_zebra One of the things I love about traveling is all the new things you experience, even the little new things like street signs.

My favorite street sign is right in my new neighborhood, it’s a Humped Zebra Crossing.

A term used in the UK for a giant speed bump with a striped crosswalk on top of it. Okay that makes sense, but come on, that’s really funny.

KV_Pink ShoesShopping!!! My friend and I hit London’s Regent Street - with a purpose. Tomorrow (Aug 25) is the press conference to finally announce what Strictly Come Dancing fans have been waiting for: The pros, the celebs, the partners.

So of course I need a new outfit. But my fav part of the outfit…

KV_Shopping ShelleyIn the TopShop Boutique I found these gorgeous pink suede pumps. They make me so-o-o-o happy. I love shoes. Love shoes. New heels to make tomorrow a breeze of dancing & interviews.

No rest for the Wicked

By Katya. Posted in JetSet, Rambling | No Comments »

Katya WickedI’ve only been in London about two weeks now, but that didn’t stop me from being so excited to have my first house guest to join me from Vancouver. So many amazing things are happening right now, but as you can imagine it’s just that much better to share with a friend.

She barely settled in before I made Shelley shake off the jetlag and head out to the theatre. My friend Lauren is in the chorus line of the show Wicked the Musical. The costumes were amazing!! And trust me we checked out the details – we had 5th row seats (thank you Lauren!), and had the pleasure of sitting with two lovely Strictly fans. Then Lauren and another cast mate joined us for apres-show cocktails to celebrate being with friends in London.

Thanks to everyone for the great wishes and welcomes to be joining the show and London. Everyone keeps on asking if I’ve met my celebrity partner yet. Come on guys – you know the nature of the show, no I haven’t quite yet – but even when I do I can’t share that! You have to keep watching the Strictly site for news.

In the meantime – here’s a vid from a photo shoot I snuck in with Budi (great photog) in Vancouver before heading to London. My fav dresses were already packed, and it was during a heat wave in Vancouver. Our original studios’ A.C. was broke so we switched last min’. We just try to make it look easy and glam, but there’s always something to roll with.

chrisianne coutureMy dress fitting was so good. Seriously, Chrisanne Couture is amazing! I love my dresses and they are so very, hot! I felt like a princess twirling around in the ballgowns, the fabrics the designs. They’re just amazing.

Just check out some of their designs. I can’t wait to wear these works of art on Strictly Come Dancing. Wow.

Oh! And I got some wicked practice wear too. Speaking of – time to start doing that.

heat-cover_1012595aI had a great time at my first photoshoot of my journey. Heat Magazine is doing ‘Strictly Stars Without Make Up.‘ Yup, that means me all natural – no makeup.

They sent a car for me, and treated me so nicely. So great to start things proper! I heard that Kelly Osborne was also there shooting – but didn’t run into her. It’s a shame, the papers say that Sharon has turned down offers to be on Strictly Come Dancing.

Anyway, the shoot was so liberating. I give props to Heat Magazine for doing a series that keeps it real. Sans makeup.

Canada-PassportI arrived in London with only one minor mishap at the airport – too much luggage. Had to leave a few clothes and some dance shoes with Adrian and family – who sent me off.

Been getting settled into a friends flat, which is lovely except for NO closet space. Even with my reduced luggage there’s still been no where to put it.

Problem solved! A trip to Ikea and now I have a closet. It’s beginning to feel like home. Now time to explore a bit before life starts to get crazy.

Very Vega

vega-ambassadors

I’m hyped to share that I’m a new ambassador for Vega!

As a professional ballroom dancer, film choreographer and dance teacher, my body is truly my temple. On any given day, I could be training for six hours, dancing cha-chas and tangos; I could be teaching groups of enthusiastic children the joy of dance; or I could be putting in a 14-hour day making movie stars look like they’ve been waltzing since they were six. To attain the levels of energy I need to keep my body running efficiently, I require a well-balanced diet, and Vega. It’s my fuel, my energy. Read more on my regime.
